measuring curtains

Measuring a window with a curtain track

1. Measure the total length of the curtain track, this is the curtain width.
2. Measure the distance from the top of the track to the floor. This is the length of your curtain. For oversized curtains you add 2 to 5 cm to the total length.

Measuring a window with a pole

1. Measure the length of the pole between the decorative ends, this is the width of your curtain.
2. Measure the distance from the top of the pole to the floor. This is the length of your curtain. For oversized curtains please add 2 to 5 cm to the length.

Measuring a window for roman blinds

There are two ways to fit your roman blinds, on the wall (outside roman blinds) or inside the window frame (inside roman blinds).

Outside roman blinds:
1. Measure the width you would like your roman blind to be.
2. Measure the height from where you would like your roman blind to be. Please note that you need to have at least 5 cm above the window frame to allow for the headrail to be fixed.
3. Measure the distance from the top of your blind to the floor. This is called fitting height. We need to know this to decide on the length of the chain drop.

Inside roman blinds
1. Measure the width of the inside of your window frame and deduct 1 cm to ensure your blind can operate smoothly and fits within the frame.
2. Measure the height of the inside of your window frame the top to the sill. Deduct 1 cm of the this height.
3. Measure the distance from the top of your blind to the floor. This is called fitting height. We need to know this to decide on the length of the chain drop.
